Constrain Site Width: Improving How Mobile Sites Are Viewed on Desktops

Normally, when a mobile site is viewed within a desktop browser, mobile sites can look 'stretched out'. This is due to the mobile site re-sizing itself to the desktop browser's dimensions which are usually much larger than most mobile devices'. To improve how mobile sites look on desktop browsers, it's possible to constrain a mobile site's dimensions, so that it displays correctly within desktop browsers.

  1. Log into your mobile site
  2. Click on the 'Site Settings' icon
  3. Scroll down to the 'Constrain Site Width' field.
  4. Enter in a value like '600', and click 'Update' to save your changes.

Now when the mobile site is viewed on a desktop browser, the mobile site will never be displayed wider than 600px. This will prevent the "stretched out" look.
